MONTGOMERY 13

The Johnson County Trojans (2-4) picked up a win in their first sub-region game this Friday.  The Trojans defeated the Montgomery County Eagles 26-13.  The Trojans moved the ball all night but could only find paydirt four times.  Freshman Kevin Rozier scored the 1st touchdown from 3 yards out.  Harvey Harris caught a 20 yard touchdown pass from D.J. Rozier on the last play of the half.  In the third quarter Ashton Thompson scored the final two touchdowns.  Freshman D.J. Rozier had his best night at quarterback.  Rozier completed 7-12 passes for 104 yards and 1 touchdown.  Harvey Harris had 103 yards on 11 carries.  Jake Stephenson added 74 yards on 17 carries.  The referees were flag happy.  A total of 22 penalties were called, 11 for each side.  In other region action Telfair County defeated Treutlen 20-15.  Telfair scored on a fourth down from the two with 18 seconds remaining to snatch the victory from Treutlen.  Bryan County defeated Wheeler County 35-39 in overtime.  Bryan took a 29-7 lead into the fourth quarter but Wheeler scored 22 points in the fourth to tie up the score only to lose in overtime.  Dooly County outscored Hawkinsville 8-3 and Wilcox County defeated Irwin County 44-6.  Next week the Trojans will travel to Alamo to face the Wheeler County Bulldogs.  Wheeler County is 0-5 on the season and this will be their sub-region opener.
