JOCO 45 CLAXTON 20
Johnson County (9-1) defeated the Claxton Tigers 45-20 at Herschel Walker Field.  The victory puts the Trojans in the state playoffs for the 9th consecutive year.  Johnson County took the opening kickoff and drove 39 yards in 11 plays before a fumble turned the ball over to the Tigers.  After a three and out the JOCO offense was set up at their own 33.  It only took four plays for the Trojans to score.  D. J. Rozier hit Daniel Wright on a quick slant and he outran everyone to the endzone.  Alex Allen booted the extra point and JOCO had a 7-0 lead.  The Claxton offense got going this time.  Claxton drove 67 yards in almost 5 minutes.  After a successful two point conversion Claxton held an 8-7 lead early in the second quarter.  The Trojans would answer quickly, however.  In only three plays the Trojans would go 60 yards.  Deon Cuyler had 59 of those yards on two carries.  The last one being a 40 yard touchdown run.  The extra point failed and JOCO led 13-8.  After forcing a Claxton punt the Trojans would score even quicker than the two previous times.  This time it only took two plays, both passes.  A 54 yard pass to Daniel Wright and a 30 yard touchdown pass to Zack Walker.  D.J. Rozier and Zack Walker hooked up again for the two point conversion.  JOCO now led 21-8 with 5:20 remaining in the half.  After a failed onside kick Claxton put together a 9 play, 47 yard drive.  The touchdown and two point conversion made the score 21-14.  After a squib kick the Trojans were set up at their own 41 with 55.3 seconds left in the half and only one timeout.  After two running plays and two passing plays the Trojans had the ball at the Claxton 21 with 4 seconds remaining.  D. J. Rozier hit Daniel Wright in the corner of the endzone for the touchdown.  A Rozier to Walker conversion pass made the score 29-14 at the half.

Claxton took the second half kickoff but after three plays had to punt.  JOCO continued the offensive onslaught.  It only took two plays for the Trojans to score on their 5th consecutive drive.  Larry Taylor went 51 yards for the touchdown.  Deon Cuyler ran in the conversion and JOCO led 37-14.  Claxton answered this score with their best drive of the night.  They went 54 yards in 11 plays and took 6:02 off the clock.  A failed conversion run left the score at 37-20.  Johnson County got their final score early in the fourth quarter.  Three plays after having a 36 yard touchdown pass called back D. J. Rozier hit Zack Walker from 30 yards out for the score.  A Taurus Mosley conversion run made the score 45-20.  Claxton drove the ball inside the Trojans 10 but turned the ball over on downs.  Johnson County was able to run out the final 5:12.  Taurus Mosley had a 52 yard run on that final time killing drive.

The Trojans offense rolled up 500 yards of total offense.  Sophomore quarterback D. J. Rozier completed 11-14 passes for 210 yards.  All but one of those passes was completed to Daniel Wright or Zack Walker.  Wright caught 6 passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns and Walker caught 5 passes for 75 yards and two touchdowns.  The top three rushers for the Trojans were Deon Cuyler 6-90 and one touchdown, Taurus Mosley 6-84 and Larry Taylor 8-65 and one touchdown.  The Trojans bend but don't break defense slowed down the powerful Claxton running attack.  Claxton got 209 yards rushing but it came at only 4.2 yards per carry.
