GAME #8

JOCO 21

TREUTLEN 6

STATS

The Johnson County Trojans (4-4) defeated the Treutlen Vikings 21-6.  The Trojans scored on the first play of the game, a 49 yard run by Harvey Harris.  It was 21 minutes and 47 seconds before another score.  This time Treutlen went in from 6 yards out.  A made extra point proved to be the difference at the half and the Trojans led 7-6.  Both teams had 105 yards of total offense at halftime.  The Trojans recovered an onside kick to start the 2nd half and scored 7 plays later to take a 14-6 lead.  Then on the second play from scrimmage Treutlen fumbled.  The Trojans scored 8 plays later and had a 21-6 lead.  The Vikings would connect on a long pass and threaten to score.  However, the Trojans defense held inside the 10.  In fact JOCO held Treutlen to 1 yard rushing in the second half.  Jake Stephenson led the Trojans with 74 yards on 13 carries.  Harvey Harris added 61 yards on 5 carries.  The Trojans have clinched home field in the region playoffs.  Next week JOCO will travel to Telfair County.  Telfair is undefeated in the sub-region like the Trojans and this game will determine the sub-region champion.
