JOCO 34 MONTGOMERY COUNTY 19

The Johnson County Trojans improved to 5-0 on the season with a 34-19 win over Montgomery County.  JOCO came out in the first quarter on fire, possibly so hot that they burned themselves out.  After racing to a 26-7 lead after the first quarter the Trojans were outscored 12-8 in the remaining three.  After the first quarter Johnson County only had the ball six times...one possession ended in a touchdown, two possessions ended with fumbles, one possession ended with a punt and the remaining two ended at the half and at the end of the game.  The Trojans played it close to the vest in the second half, throwing only two passes...both wide receiver screens.  Of the 29 runs in the second half, 24 were by the quarterback and fullback.  Montgomery County used a big play to score each of their touchdowns.  In the first quarter a 35 yard run set up the touchdown, in the second quarter a 38 yard pass set up the touchdown and in the third quarter it was a 55 yard pass.  These three plays accounted for almost 60% of the Eagle's offensive output.
