JOCO 42 MONTGOMERY 0

The Johnson County Trojans (9-0) defeated the Montgomery County Eagles (5-4) at home, 42-0. This was Johnson County's first shutout since September 7, 2007 against Claxton and the first home shutout since September 2, 2005 against Wheeler County.  The closest Montgomery got to the Johnson goal line was the Johnson County 28.  The Trojans defense held the Eagles to 38 yards of total offense and forced four turnovers in the game.  This stretches the Trojans winning streak against the Eagle's to eleven.

The Trojans only two possessions of the first quarter ended in touchdowns.  The first was a one yard run by Glendarrius Darrisaw and the second was a 34 yard pass from D. J. Rozier to Zack Walker.  An interception ended the Trojans third possession but that was the only time they were stopped in the first half.  With just over 3 minutes remaining D. J. hit Zack again, this time from 42 yards out, to give JOCO a 21-0 lead.  The Trojans did a successful onside kick and two plays Nigel Bacon went in from 11 yards out for the score.  After a Zack Walker interception and return down to the seven yard line, D. J. Rozier scored on a seven yard run on the next play.  The score at the half was 35-0.  The mercy rule went into effect to start the 3rd quarter.  The only score of the second half was a 73 yard run by D. J. Rozier.  Alex Allen made his sixth extra point and the score was 42-0.

   D. J. Rozier led the Trojans with 136 yards rushing and 138 yards passing.  He also rushed for two touchdowns and passed for two touchdowns.  Zack Walker caught seven passes for 132 yards (all in the first half).  He scored two touchdowns.  Glendarrius "Bull" Darrisaw rushed for 67 yards and one touchdown.  Tony Solen led the defense with 10 tackles.  The Trojans finished as the #1 seed from the West Sub-region and will face Claxton on Friday night at Herschel Walker Field.  The Trojans hope to avoid last year's result in the region play-in game.  With a win JOCO will be region champions but with a loss the season will be over.  Come out to the Blue Monster and support the Trojans!!!
