JOCO 44 Wheeler County 7

The Johnson County Trojans (7-0) scored early and often in the first half en route to a 44-7 sub-region victory over the Wheeler County Bulldogs (2-4).  The Trojans led 13-0 after the first quarter and 37-0 at halftime.  Rico Outlaw got the scoring started when he scooped up a Wheeler fumble and ran 35 yards for the score.  After the Trojans and Bulldogs swapped fumbles JOCO got on the board again with a 3 yard run by Keemo Burton.  D. J. Rozier threw his first pass of the game early in the second quarter.  He connected with Shamarko Brown for a 60 yard touchdown.  Later in the quarter that same pair would hook up for a 78 yard touchdown pass.  In between those two passes D. J. Rozier scored from one yard out.  Just prior to his run was the most drama of the game.  On fourth and one from the 36 the Wheeler quarterback fumbled...a couple of Trojans and a Wheeler player were attempting to recover but nobody gained possession until the Wheeler player fell on the ball at the 12 yard line.  Since it was fourth down and possession never change the Trojans were given the ball.  Apparently, the Wheeler side didn't agree with the decision.  Several unsportsmanlike conduct penalties later the Trojans had the ball at the one...thus setting up D.J.'s run.  JOCO got the final score of the half on a 20 yard field goal by Alex Allen.  The Trojans opened the second half with a 56 yard pass to Zack Walker.  Three plays later JOCO scored for the final time of the game.  Nigel Bacon went in from two yards out.  Wheeler County scored on the first play of the fourth quarter to cap the scoring.  Shamarko Brown led the Trojans with 150 yards receiving on only three catches.  Zack Walker had 4 catches for 24 yards.  D. J. Rozier had only three completions but they went for 194 yards.  The Trojans will hit the road again next week when they travel to Treutlen.  The Vikings were off last week.  We need to pack Bobby Driggers Stadium with Blue.
