JOCO 14 PORTAL 0
The Trojans defeated the Portal Panthers on Friday night 14-0 at Herschel Walker Field.  Defense was the name of the game as the Trojans held Portal to 50 yards of total offense.  While it seemed like the Trojans moved the ball, JOCO only had 179 yards of total offense.  Offensive possessions were at a premium as the Trojans offense only had 7 possessions in the game.  An impressive 17 play 7 minute drive that started at the Trojan 7 ended in a fumble in the first quarter.  The Trojans backed that up with another impressive drive.  This time taking 4:15 off the clock and going 52 yards in 9 plays for the touchdown.  Their were five possessions in the third quarter, three for Portal and two for JOCO.  Portal had 1 first down and -1 yards total offense in the third quarter.  JOCO had 0 first downs and -4 yards total offense in the third quarter.  The Trojans offense picked up a little steam in the fourth quarter.  JOCO had an 8 play 4:18 drive down to the Portal 12 but turned the ball over on downs.  However, three plays later Jakari Bridges ran an interception in for a touchdown.  That was his third interception return for a touchdown this season.  The Trojans held on from there for the 14-0 victory.  Markel Horne led the Trojans offense with 55 yards rushing and a touchdown.  Kelvion Johnson led the defense with 11 tackles and 3 tackles for loss.  The Trojans travel to Twin City to face the ECI Bulldogs this week.  ECI is 4-0 and ranked #3.
