The JCMS basketball season came to an end on
Jan. 9, 2010. The Trojans ended up in 2nd place and had to face a
tough Montgomery County team in the first round of the playoffs. The Trojans
had defeated Montgomery County twice during the regular season;
unfortunately after a strong 32 point game Tequavius Thomas wasn’t enough to
lift the Trojans into the championship game. The Trojans faced Wheeler
County in the consolation game and came away with a 10 point victory. They
are coached by Coach Tramayne Young
The
Lady Trojans ended up in 3rd place after regular season play and
had to face Treutlen County in the 1st round of the playoffs. The
Lady Trojans were trailing by six going into the fourth quarter and led by
Keirra Horne scoring 10 of her 11 points in the forth quarter allowed the
Lady Trojans to come away with the victory and a spot in the championship
game against Montgomery County.
The championship game was a battle back and
forth during the 1st half and both teams were tied at 17. The 3rd
quarter was very similar to the 1st half and the Lady Trojans
trailed by 2 after the 3rd quarter. The difference in the game
came down to the fourth where the Lady Trojans got outscored 7 -2 and was
defeated by the score of 30- 23. The Lady Trojans was led by Keira Smith,
who at times appeared to be unstoppable from the post. They are coached by
Coach Shawn Linder
