LADY
TROJANS FASTPITCH RECEIVES HONORS |
|
The 2009 Lady
Trojans Fastpitch team recently held its annual awards banquet. It was a
night of bitter sweet memories as players, family, friends, and school staff
gathered to honor the most successful senior class ever to play fastpitch
softball for Johnson County High School. Head Coach Chuck Beale started by
saying that there was still a little bitter taste left after the year came
to a dramatic end on a game ending play to region foe Calvary Day that saw
the highly ranked Trojans season conclude much sooner than planned. Coach
Beale acknowledged though that anytime a team could win 20 games in a season
that it had to be considered a very good year and this senior class had won
20+ games for 4 straight seasons. With a four year record of 93-35-1, 2
sub-region championships, 1 region championship, 3 state playoff
appearances, 1 elite-eight appearance and several top 10 rankings, he felt
that their goal of getting the Johnson County Fastpitch program on the map
had been accomplished. After a brief program by Randy Parmer, assistant
pastor of Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene, was presented in which he told
the ladies that awards and accolades are great but they only come after you
do what it takes to have yourself prepared so when you get your chance to
get in the game whether it be softball or life - your ready; the following
awards were presented by Coach Beale and assistant coach, Jennifer Jessup.
