LADY
TROJANS ADVANCE TO ELITE EIGHT |
|
The Johnson County Lady Trojans
(32-4) traveled to Butler to face the Taylor County Lady Vikings (21-11) this past
Wednesday and Thursday. The two teams split a doubleheader on
Wednesday, with JOCO winning Game #1 5-1 and Taylor County winnings Game #2
1-0. The Lady Trojans won the deciding Game #3 on Thursday, 9-2.
With the win the Lady Trojans advanced to the Elite Eight in Columbus.
If I read the bracket right JOCO will open up with Prince Avenue Christian
on Thursday at 12:00. PACS (26-4) won Region 8 and is ranked #3 in the
coaches poll. The Lady Trojans are ranked #8. |
|
LADY
TROJANS ADVANCE |
|
The Johnson County Lady Trojans
traveled down to Colquitt to face the Miller County Lady Pirates this past
Wednesday. The ladies from JOCO won both games, 7-1 and 9-1, to
advance to the second round of the state playoffs. Region 3 showed
their strength in the first round by going 8-0 and sweeping Region 1.
The Lady Trojans will face Taylor County (20-9) in Butler on Wednesday,
October 20th. The Lady Vikings defeated Schley County 1-0 to win
Region 4 and then defeated Turner County, 6-0 and 4-2, to advance in the
playoffs. If JOCO defeats Taylor County they will advance to the Elite
Eight in Columbus on October 28-30. |
|
LADY
TROJANS FINISH 3RD IN REGION |
|
The Johnson County Lady Trojans
softball team lost a heartbreaker in the first game yesterday, 2-1 in 9
innings. The Lady Trojans led 1-0 going to the 7th but Savannah
Christian tied it up and then won in the 9th. This loss cost the Lady
Trojans home field advantage for the next round. In the second game
the Lady Trojans defeated Treutlen to secure the 3rd seed. Savannah
Christian will be the #1 seed, Bryan County will be the #2 seed, Johnson
County will be the #3 seed and Treutlen will be the #4 seed. In the
first round of the state playoffs Region 3 will play Region 1. The
Lady Trojans will travel to the #2 seed from Region 1 in the first round.
If they win that series they will more than likely travel to the #1 seed in
Region 4. |
|
LADY
TROJANS CLINCH SUB-REGION |
|
The Johnson County Lady Trojans
softball team clinched the sub-region with a 5-4 win over the Treutlen
Vikings. After two more wins in the Lady Trojans Invitational, a
win over Wheeler County, a win over Portal and two wins over Metter in the
region play-in game the Lady Trojans are now 27-2 on the year and finished
sub-region play with a record of 12-0. Congrats and Good Luck in the playoffs!!! |
