MARCHELLO GRADDY


GRADDY CLOSES OUT COLLEGE CAREER IN HAWAII

Marchello Graddy closed out his college career in the Hula Bowl.  The Hula Bowl is an all star game for college seniors to showcase their talents in front of NFL Scouts.  Graddy played for Kai which means ocean in Hawaiian.  The Kai team lost to Aina, land in Hawaiian, 26-7.

GRADDY NAMED COLORADO DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

The Honors keep rolling in for Air Force Senior and former Trojan player Marchello Graddy.  He was recently named Colorado Defensive Player of the Year by the Colorado Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.  Earlier Graddy was a first team selection to the all-Mountain West Conference Football Team.  Marchello ranked second in the Mountain West Conference in tackles with 9.9 per game.  He led the Conference in sacks with six and was sixth in tackles for loss with 10.

GRADDY FINISHES CAREER

Marchello Graddy has finished his career at the Air Force Academy as one of their most prolific tacklers in school history.  Air Force finished the 2003 season with a record of 7-5. Marchello led the Falcons with 113 tackles, 44 of them solo.  He also had 10 tackles for a total loss of 64 yards, 6 sacks for a total loss of 42 yards, 2 pass breakups, 1 quarterback hurry, 2 forced fumbles and 5 fumble returns for 25 yards.  Marchello completed the 2002 regular season with 64 tackles, 21 unassisted.  He also had 7 1/2 tackles for loss, 1 1/2 sacks, 4 pass breakups and 4 fumble recoveries.  He has also scored a touchdown.  Marchello's 4 fumble recoveries led the Mountain West Conference.  He had 6 tackles in the Falcons bowl loss to Virginia Tech.  The Falcons finished the season 8-5.

GRADDY NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Air Force linebacker Marchello Graddy has been selected as this week's Pioneer Press State of Colorado Player of the Week  Marchello led the Falcons in tackles with seven, had three fumble recoveries, forced one fumble and had a quarterback sack.  Marchello leads the Mountain West Conference in tackles and is among the league leaders in sacks and tackles for loss.

GRADDY RECOVERS THREE FUMBLES

Marchello Graddy had another great game for Air Force in their victory over Army.  He led Air Force in tackles with seven, had a sack for a six yard loss, forced a fumble and recovered three fumbles.  Marchello's fumble recoveries came on three consecutive drives in the second quarter.  Marchello tied the school record for fumble recoveries in a single game.  He now has five fumble recoveries on the season and that ties him for third in school history.  His nine career fumble recoveries ties the school record.
